February Records 448 Arrests, 71 are Children

Israeli occupation force arrested dozens of Palestinian citizen in one month

Jerusalem24 – In February 2022, the occupation authorities arrested (448) citizens of the occupied Palestinian territory, including (71) children and (10) women.

A joint monthly report issued today, Tuesday, by the prisoners and human rights institutions confirmed; (The Commission for Detainees and Ex-Prisoners Affairs, the Palestinian Prisoner Club, the Addameer Foundation for Prisoner Care and Human Rights, and Wadi Hilweh Information Center – Jerusalem), that the number of Palestinian prisoners and detainees in the occupation prisons reached about (4,400) until the end of February, including (33) female prisoners, (160) minors, and about (490) administrative detainees.

The highest rate of arrests during February was in Jerusalem, which amounted to (166) cases, including (56) children and minors. The number of administrative detention orders issued during the month reached (107), including (32) new orders, and (75) extension orders.

The report monitored all policies, procedures, and changes implemented by the occupation authorities with regard to Palestinian prisoners and detainees, in addition to the reality and conditions of prisoners and detainees inside the occupation prisons, based on the outcome of monitoring, documentation, and legal and field follow-up carried out by the four institutions.
