Israel Resumes War on Gaza

Jerusalem24 – On Wednesday, the Israeli occupation continued its refusal to accept the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, which went into effect on January 19 and lasted for about two months, after 471 days of the Israeli aggression on the Strip.
At dawn on Tuesday, March 18, the Israeli army resumed its brutal aggression on the Gaza Strip with dozens of airstrikes, killing over 400 Palestinian and injuring 500 within hours, most of them children and women.
In early March, the first phase of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, which lasted 42 days, ended. It included a multi-stage prisoner exchange between the resistance factions and Israel, a limited withdrawal of the Israeli army, and the return of displaced Palestinians to their destroyed homes.
Israel renounced entering into the second phase of the ceasefire agreement, which was supposed to last for 42 days, followed by a third phase of the same duration, leading to a permanent cessation of fire and aggression.
On October 7, 2023, the commander-in-chief of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Mohammed Deif, announced the launch of Operation “Flood of Al-Aqsa” in response to the occupation’s crimes against Palestinians and its repeated incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque. Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation army announced the launch of Operation “Iron Swords” against the Gaza Strip.
Since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, 48,577 Palestinians have been killed, while the number of injured has reached 112,041, approximately 72% of whom are women and children, according to the Ministry of Health.
In contrast, Israeli military estimates indicate that more than 1,500 Israelis have been killed since the beginning of the war, including more than 700 officers and soldiers, in addition to approximately 10,000 wounded.
