UNESCO awards the State of Palestine its Chair in Data Science
Jerusalem24 – Today, Sunday, the Palestinian National Committee for Education, Culture and Science announced the approval of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to grant the State of Palestine the “UNESCO Chair for Data Science for Development”, for the benefit of the Arab American University, and for the holder of the chair, head of the Department of Natural Sciences, Engineering and Technology Magdy is back.
The Secretary-General of the Palestinian National Committee and President of the Executive Council of ISESCO Dawas Dawas valued the State of Palestine’s obtaining this important scientific achievement, which will be hosted by the Arab American University, considering this success an indication of the progress and excellence of the State of Palestine at the regional and international levels in the field of science on the one hand, and the prestigious position that Our Palestinian universities and academic institutions have reached it on the other hand.
He added that the university’s embrace of this chair will have important repercussions at the scientific and academic level, which will not be confined to the Arab American University, but will extend its impact on all Palestinian academic institutions and universities, and the regional and international activities offered by this chair, including studies and research, and the organization of lectures, meetings and national conferences. Delegating students and professors, holding educational courses and workshops, and twinning operations at both local and international levels in the field of competence of this chair.
