Popular celebrations and festivities for prison escape

Jerusalem24 – Popular and festive atmospheres prevailed as mass rallies roamed the streets of several cities in the West Bank and Gaza yesterday evening, rejoicing that six prisoners managed to escape from the high-security Gilboa prison, at dawn yesterday.
In the Jenin refugee camp, a march was organized that roamed the camp’s streets, during which the Palestinian flag was raised, and sweets were distributed to the citizens.
In the city of Hebron, a similar march started from the front of the Hussein Mosque towards Ibn Rushd Square in the center of the city, during which the participants raised Palestinian flags.
The participants chanted support for the prisoners, warning against the Israeli authorities’ attempt to assassinate the prisoners.
In the town of Beita, south of Nablus, hundreds of people organized a march to celebrate the escape of the six prisoners. Sweets were distributed to the participants in the event. Similar rallies were also organized in a number of towns in the West Bank.
In the Gaza Strip, citizens distributed sweets to passers-by, and drivers blew their car horns, while citizens raised victory signs, expressing their happiness at the prisoners’ escape and the infiltration of the security system of the most fortified Israeli prisons.
