The prevailing suspicion currently is that the fire was caused by a human factor, without knowing the motives.

Jerusalem24 – The Israeli news website, Ynet, reported this morning that the fires that have been burning since yesterday in the Jerusalem mountains have caused the burning of 17,000 dunams (around 4200 Acres)  until dawn.

The website indicated that the Israeli firefighting crews, with the participation of planes, are still trying to put out the fire, noting that 70 crews participated in the firefighting operations.

The website also pointed out that “the prevailing suspicion currently is that the fire was caused by a human factor, without knowing the motives.”

According to the website, the danger of fires approaching homes has disappeared, explaining that efforts focused yesterday on preventing them from reaching the population centers in the area, despite the evacuation of 3,000 settlers from that area.
