Palestine registers 314 COVID-19 cases, seven deaths

Health Minister: 266,600 people have received their first jab of the vaccine

Jerusalem24 – Palestinian Minister of Health Mai Alkaila said today that 314 new COVID-19 infections, seven deaths and 810 recoveries were registered in Palestine during the past 24 hours.

In her daily report on the coronavirus pandemic, Alkaila said three deaths were reported in the West Bank and four others in the Gaza Strip. She said no updates were available from occupied Jerusalem.

In the West Bank, 172 coronavirus tests came out positive, while 142 new cases were registered in the Gaza Strip.

The health minister said 80 patients of coronavirus are under intensive care, of whom 26 are on ventilators. In addition, 184 patients are receiving treatment at hospitals and COVID-19 dispensaries.

Alkaila pointed out that the recovery rate in Palestine has so far reached 95.1 percent, while active cases declined to 3.8 percent. Deaths stood at 1.1 percent of total infections.

Concerning rollout of vaccines, the health minister said over 266,600 people have received their first jab of the vaccine in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, of whom 193,790 received both doses.
