Israel grabs lands near Tulkarem
Over the years Israel has been grabbing lands from the area for the sake of the Avni Hefetz settlement.
Jerusalem24 – The Israeli military authorities have notified the seizure of about 11 dunums of the lands of the village of Shufa, southeast of Tulkarm.
The Secretary of the “Fatah” movement in Shofa, Murad Droubi, explained to the WAFA news agency, that the Israeli authorities handed notices to seize 10,638 dunums of the village lands located in “Khilat Al-Mila”, “Al-Arqoub”, “Abu Al-Aqra Building”, and ‘Viscali’ basin No. 2.
He added that these notifications are a continuation of the ongoing seizure of village lands in favor of expanding the settlement of Avni Hefetz. This, at a time when bulldozing and construction work continues on the previously seized lands in favor of expanding the aforementioned settlement.
In July of last year, the Israeli authorities seized 3 and a half dunams of the “Al-Bira” site in the village, while in 2019 it announced a new detailed plan bearing the number (T/158), which includes the establishment of a settlement industrial zone on an area of 788 dunums of the lands of the villages of Jbara and Shufa.
