Israeli official announces a huge project linking Haifa and Abu Dhabi

Jerusalem24 – An Israeli official unveiled the intention of the United Arab Emirates and Israel to link Haifa and Abu Dhabi with a huge project.

The Hebrew newspaper “Maariv” held an interview with Avi Simhon, head of the Economic Council in the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office, in which he confirmed that his country and the UAE are studying the launch of a number of large, strategic infrastructure projects, One of which is a railway linking the UAE with the port of Haifa on the Mediterranean.

The Israeli official explained that the railway, which Israel and the UAE intend to study for its inauguration, is supposed to pass in both Jordan and Saudi Arabia, indicating that what increases the chances of implementing this project is that most of this railway line is currently in place, and it only lacks the construction of 200-300 km in Jordan.

Simhon stated that the completion of this project would allow goods to be transported from Israel to the UAE within a day or two, in addition to container transportation, which takes 12 days through the Suez Canal.

The Israeli official pointed out that the launch of the railway project allows the transportation of fresh agricultural products, which are products that the UAE lacks due to the climatic conditions there, pointing out that the United States is interested in accomplishing such projects, because it gives all countries in the region clear economic returns, and allows in a way to strengthen Jordan, under the pretext of The Jordanian economy is the most in need of economic assistance.

It is noteworthy that the UAE and Bahrain signed a normalization agreement with Israel on September 15, under the auspices of former US President Donald Trump.
