Israeli government approves the establishment of new settlement units

500 new housing units to be constructed in Wadi Fukin, Bethlehem.

Jerusalem24 (WAFA)- The Israeli authorities approved the construction of hundreds of settlement units in “Tzur Hadassah” settlement, which is built on Palestinian lands in the village of Wadi Fukin, west of Bethlehem.

The director of the Bethlehem Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission office, Hassan Brijieh, stated that, based on Israeli sources, the Israeli government approved the construction of 500 settlement units in the aforementioned settlement, at the expense of the lands of the citizens in Wadi Fukin.

He pointed out that there is an Israeli plan targeting the Bethlehem Governorate by increasing the pace of settlement expansion, the latest of which was a change in the borders of the lands in Arab al-Ta’amrah, east of Bethlehem, and preventing citizens from entering and staying in their lands adjacent to some settlements south and east of Bethlehem.
