Ramallah Music Week’s first-ever edition launches today

A musical and visual experience, a first of its kind in Ramallah.

Jeruaslem24 – Ramallah Music Week (RMW) is launching its very first edition of a digital arts festival that showcases both upcoming talent and established artists while offering the public an immersive and sensory audio-visual experience.

RMW is organized by Projekt Sonik, a non-profit initiative aimed at developing sonic and digital art with a focus on sound, music, and audio-visual work. Projekt Sonik’s mandate is to create a space that supports innovation and encourages exchange between sonic and digital artists, programmers, and industry professionals.

Prior to the launch of festivities tonight, RMW hosted workshops for musicians and visual artists here in Ramallah.

“It’s a way to give the artist a new digital expression tool,” says organizer and artist Firas Abu Sarieh.

Firas says he’s “very happy” about the current state of the music scene here in Palestine: “We see more artists, we see more indie artists, in both fields: in the digital music field and the digital arts field as well.”

Firas doesn’t want to give away too many details about tonight’s event, but invites everyone to attend the musical and visual performance.

You can find the tickets for RMW (which is holding its opening night tonight at 8:00 pm in the Qattan Foundation) at Zeit and Zaatar, Garage, and Almatal. More details are available on Ramallah Music Week’s Facebook’s page.
