Wake Up Palestine – The Uprooting of Masafer Yatta
Jerusalem24 – Last week the Israeli High Court of Justice rejected a petition against the eviction of more than 1,000 Palestinian inhabitants of a rural part of the southern occupied West Bank in an area known as Masafer Yatta.
Residents and Israeli rights groups say that many of the Palestinian families have been permanently residing in the 3,000-hectare area since before Israel captured the West Bank in 1967, and that their eviction would constitute a breach of international law.
B’tselem stated that “The Justices have thus once again proved to us that the occupied cannot expect justice from the occupiers’ court.”
In this episode of Wake-Up Palestine we talk to Michael Sfard, an Israeli lawyer that slammed the Israeli court’s decision regarding Masafer Yatta.
