Palestinian Minister of Health hints at possible new Covid measures

Dr. May Al-Kaileh said that citizens' commitment to preventive measures would help prevent the government from taking measures that may not be accepted or welcomed by the general public.

Jerusalem24 – Palestinian Minister of Health Dr. May Al-Kaileh said today that Palestine has entered its sixth wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. She said the epidemiological situation has become worrying.

The Minister also announced a significant increase in the number of active cases, with around 1,000 new active cases were recorded yesterday in the West Bank alone.

Al-Kaileh called on citizens to adhere to wearing a mask, especially in closed areas, mosques, churches, restaurants and wedding halls, and reiterated the necessity of taking the first, second, third and fourth doses of the vaccine, especially for the elderly and those who suffer from chronic diseases.

Al-Kaileh noted that citizens’ commitment to preventive measures would help prevent the government from taking measures that may not be accepted or welcomed by the general public.

The Israeli Ministry of Health, for its part, recorded 11,438 active Covid-19 cases yesterday, after 33,928 laboratory tests were conducted. 285 patients are in serious condition, 56 of whom are on ventilators.
