Sa’ar: No Freezing of Settlement Construction
Jerusalem24 – Israeli Justice Minister Gideon Sa’ar confirmed, in an implicit message to Defense Minister Benny Gantz, that there will be no freezing of settlement construction in the West Bank, according to the 7th Hebrew Channel.
“I’m going to fight for that to happen, and I’ve had a number of conversations about this with Secretary Gantz, and I think it’s going to happen,” Sa’ar said.
In order to continue building in the settlements, the building plans approved by the local councils in the West Bank are now on the table of Defense Minister Benny Gantz, and are awaiting approval.
Plans to build about 4,000 settlement units in the West Bank were submitted to the Defense Minister for approval, according to Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper.
The initial phase of construction is currently under discussion for the construction of 650 units in Tel Zion, 360 in Emmanuel, 377 in Kedumim, 192 in Shaarei Tikva, 136 in Tapuah, 90 units in Dolev and 32 units in Ma’ale Adumim.
As for the final stage, the construction of 193 housing units in Efrat, 179 units in Einav, 168 units in Talmon, 136 units in Givat Ze’ev, 107 units in Hinanit, 93 units in Tzofim, and 64 units in Revava are being discussed.
