Jerusalem24– Children in Ramallah had a chance to enjoy festivities in the Garden of Nations park in Al-Masyoun yesterday as part of Europe Day celebrations for the year 2022.
A total of four events were planned this year throughout the month of May, with the first taking place in Gaza, followed by East Jerusalem, and finally Ramallah on Monday. Children had their own tailored event the following day at the park.
Activities included games and balloon-shaping, while several booths with life-sized photo backgrounds of various European cities allowed children to pose for photos across the continent.
A DJ was on hand to entertain, and was joined in this endeavor by Farqet Kanfoush, a local comedy group for children that seeks to educate as well as entertain.
The Office of the European Union Representative for the West Bank and Gaza told Jerusalem24, “The children will learn about Europe, they will have fun, and they will be able to visit some of the booths representing European countries.”
“The idea is to celebrate with Palestinians this European day which represents unity, which stands for peace, which stands for all the values the European Union supports – and especially the partnership with the Palestinians.”
