Bar-Lev Secretly visited Jordan to Discuss Facilities for the Palestinians
Jerusalem24 – This morning, Tuesday, the Israeli Radio Kan revealed that the Israeli Minister of Internal Security, Omer Bar-Lev, secretly visited the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan last week before the events of Beersheba and Hadera.
According to the radio, Bar-Lev met with Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and discussed with him the facilitation that will be provided to the Palestinians before Ramadan to prevent an escalation on the ground.
According to the radio, the Jordanian side requested a series of benefits and discussed expanding the entry of Palestinians to the Al-Aqsa Mosque during the month of Ramadan. The Jordanians also sought to increase and strengthen Jordan’s Islamic endowments and extend its control further in the Islamic site.
Bar-Lev informed the Jordanian side of its approval of the activities and the increase in the number of endowment employees, and the introduction of new carpets for the chapels inside Al-Aqsa and the mosques in the Old City.
The radio reported that in recent weeks, efforts have been made to calm the growing tension before the advent of the month of Ramadan.
The Israeli security establishment fears an escalation in the West Bank and Jerusalem during the month of Ramadan. As such it is preparing to allow Palestinians from the West Bank and others to pray in the Al-Aqsa Mosque for the first time since the beginning of the COVID19 Pandemic and the events of May of last year.
