EU: Sheikh Jarrah demolitions and evictions illegal under international law
Jerusalem24 – The Representative of the European Union was present at the displacement of the Salhiya family in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in occupied Jerusalem.
In a statement, the representative said that the evictions and demolitions are illegal under international law.
The representative of the European Union was present along with several other representatives of the European Union and other countries.
In a tweet, the EU also stated that the evictions/demolitions “significantly undermine the prospects for peace as well as fuel tensions on the ground.”
The family of 12 people, including 5 children, threatened to set fire to the house and themselves, demanding that the decision to evict them be postponed until the court session on January 23rd.
