Dozens injured as settlers storm Joseph’s Tomb in Nablus

Jerusalem24 – The Israeli forces commander of the Nablus area, three settlers, and dozens of Palestinians were injured during an attempt by settlers to storm Joseph’s Tomb east of Nablus under the protection of Israeli occupation forces.

Armed clashes erupted after hundreds of Israeli settlers raided the area of Joseph’s Tomb.

According to Ahmad Jibril, director of the ambulance service with the Red Crescent in Nablus, 17 Palestinians were injured with live and rubber bullets, and 40 Palestinians suffered from suffocation due to tear gas inhalation, including four children and an infant who were hospitalized after their homes were targeted with tear gas.

A Palestinian who was shot with a live bullet in the thigh and was taken to hospital. A further 16 were injured with rubber bullets, four of whom were taken to the hospital.

Five others suffered from burns, and two more fell during the confrontations. All were treated at the scene.

A spokesman for the Israeli occupation army said the commander of the Nablus area, Colonel Ary Tsavig, was slightly injured during the Israeli Occupations forces’ incursion to protect the settlers.

Israeli media said the Israeli forces evacuated Joseph’s Tomb after three injuries were reported among settlers.
