Administrative detainees continue their boycott of the occupation courts for the tenth day

Jerusalem24 – 500 Palestinians who are being held under administrative detention in Israeli prisons, continue to boycott Israel’s courts for the tenth consecutive day in protest of the administrative detention policy.

The boycott campaign is happening under the slogan “our decision is freedom”.

The Palestinian Prisoners’ Club said in a statement today, Monday, that the detainees decision came in light of the escalating policies pursued by the Israeli authorities during the past year. According to the Club, the number of administrative detention orders issued against former and new detainees has reached 1595.

Among the administrative detainees are four minors and one woman, Shurouq Al-Badan.

The highest percentage of adminstrative detention orders was issued during the month of May in 2021, reaching 200 orders, and about 60 prisoners and administrative detainees engaged in hunger strikes. Most of them against administrative detention.
