Resignations in Bennet’s office
Allegations of a "difficult work environment."
Jerusalem24 – The Israeli daily newspaper Israel Hayom reported today, Thursday, that 3 senior employees in the office of Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett will resign in the coming days; 3 months after a similar step was taken by others.
While Bennett’s office says that these resignations were made against the background of personal circumstances, a senior Israeli official attributed the reason for the resignation to the difficult work environment.
The allegations include a spike in quarrels among the employees and exchanging of accusations between those employees and Chancellor Shimrit Meir, who has become close to the Prime Minister.
According to the newspaper, the strengthening of Meir within Bennett’s office led to a deterioration in relations with his coalition partner and member of Yamina, Ayelet Shaked Through her interference on many issues and activities of the Prime Minister’s Office.
The paper accuses her of arbitrarily imposing her authority even with senior employees. Including staff at the National Security Council, whose presidency relays its recommendations to Bennet.
Meir is now described as the most powerful figure in Bennett’s office and has expanded her influence inside and outside it.
