Israeli Supreme Court postpones ruling to evacuate residents of Sheikh Jarrah

The eviction was due to take place by August, but the decision was postponed due to an appeal by the families.

Jerusalem24 – Sunday evening, the Israeli Supreme Court issued a decision ordering the postponement of a ruling ordering the eviction of several Palestinian families from their homes in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of Jerusalem.

According to the Israeli Channel, Kan, the issuance of the decision was suspended pending a decision on the appeal submitted by these families against their expulsion.

The eviction was due to take place by August, but the decision was postponed due to an appeal by the families.

Israeli sources believe that the continued postponement of the evacuation process is related to a political position, in order to prevent the situation on the ground and politically from escalating in light of the opposition to the new American tool for the evacuation process.
