Human Rights Watch charges Israel with Apartheid
Report details Israeli practices on the ground as against International law
Jerusalem24 – Human Rights Watch (HRW), an international watchdog organization, released a report on Tuesday making the case that Israel is committing apartheid and persecution.
The crimes Israel is being accused of are defined by the Rome Statute, the treaty that established the International Criminal Court, as crimes against humanity. The report details how Israel is pursuing a system of Jewish superiority over Palestinians, whether in the West Bank, within Israel and even in Diaspora.
The report also calls on various countries to condition their military aid to Israel, as to limit its usage in possible crimes, as well as impose targeted sanctions against Israeli officials found responsible for any crimes.
HRW is the most recent Human Rights group stating that Israel is committing apartheid while maintaining Jewish supremacy. Other organizations that have made similar statements include the Israeli Non-Governmental Organizations Yesh Din and B’Tselem.
