Jerusalem24 – On Wednesday morning, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will begin a series of meetings aimed at forging a government coalition, a day after he received the letter assigned to start forming a government.
“Yediot Aharonot” newspaper reported that Netanyahu will meet with his partners in the previous government, the religious parties “United Torah Judaism, Shas” and in the evening he will meet with the leader of the “Religious Zionism” party – Bezalel Smotrich – to consult on prospects for joint cooperation.
Netanyahu will also meet today with the leader of the “right” party, Naftali Bennett, in a meeting described as important, in an attempt to prevent him from joining an alternative government with the support of the left-wing parties.
Meanwhile, the assignment letter stipulates that Netanyahu be given 28 days in an effort to form a government, which can be renewed for two weeks if needed.
