Israel to start Coronavirus vaccine human trials in November

Jerusalem24 – The Israeli Institute for Biological Research established the beginning of human testing on its vaccine next week.
The institute is run by the Defense Ministry. “This is a day of hope for the citizens of Israel,” said Defense Minister Benny Gantz.
Clinical testing is expected to start this November on a group of 80 people, increasing the range to 960 people next December, reaching the third and final phase with 30,000 people next April or May according to the results.
“I believe in the abilities of our scientists and I am confident that we can produce a safe and effective vaccine,” said Dr Shmuel Shapira, director of the institute.
Shapira expressed that their aim is to produce 15 million doses for Israeli residents and close neighbors.
In this respect, Over 40 Coronavirus vaccine candidates are in clinical trials worldwide, according to the World Health Organisation.
Israel has reported over 300,000 cases of COVID-19 and nearly 2,400 deaths.
