Israeli Military adds Protests to Strategic Plans
Senior official: such incidents are very difficult strategically for security, much more than Iran and Hezbollah
Jerusalem24 – The Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported today, Tuesday, that the Israeli army added the possibility of new confrontations between Jews and Palestinians across Israel in its combat plans as a “strategic factor;” that might have a negative impact on its military operations.
According to the newspaper, the northern command of the Israeli army has updated its plans, including the possibility of events similar to those that occurred during the “Guardian of the Walls / Sword of Jerusalem” operation, which was also called a Palestinian “gift of dignity.”
The newspaper said that updating the combat plans of the Israeli army is not rare, as it updates them from time to time according to the changing reality, and at some point new factors are taken into account that may affect the readiness to fight, and these changes, which are described as “strategic” for the two security levels, are put into place. And the political, considering that it must be taken into account in any decisions.
A senior Israeli security official told the Hebrew newspaper, that security challenges inside Israel and internal tensions have become a negative strategic factor, and such incidents are very difficult strategically for security, much more than Iran and Hezbollah.
