Anti-Wall and Settlement Commission Lawyer Killed in Confrontations

Jerusalem24 – A Palestinian was killed today, Wednesday, and tens were injured during confrontations with the Israeli occupation forces in the city of Nablus and the town of Beita.

The Ministry of Health announced that Muhammad Hassan Muhammad Assaf (34 years) was killed after being shot in the chest by the occupation army during the aggression on the city of Nablus.

Assaf, a resident of the town of Kafr Laqif, east of Qalqilya, works as a lawyer in the Committee to Resist the Wall and Settlement in the northern West Bank.

Clashes erupted on Amman Street and Hisba Street after the occupation forces stormed Joseph’s tomb, accompanied by settler leaders, in the morning. They began restoring Joseph’s tomb, whose contents were destroyed by angry youths in the past few days.

Classes were suspended in a number of schools located in the vicinity of Joseph’s Tomb in order to preserve the safety of students.

The occupation forces also stormed the town of Beita, south of Nablus, raided and searched a number of houses, destroyed their contents, and arrested Islam Diab, Raed Barham, and Ihab Hamayel.

The confrontations in Nablus and Beita resulted in 10 injuries with live bullets, one of them in the chest, and his condition was described as serious, and 6 injuries with rubber-coated metal bullets, one of them in the eye, and one injured as a result of being run over by a military jeep, and another with burns with a gas bomb.
