Palestinian killed in Jerusalem

Jerusalem24 – The young man, Karim Jamal Al-Qawasmi, 19, from the village of Al-Tur, east of Jerusalem, was shot dead by Israeli forces, at dawn today, Sunday, near Bab Hatta, north of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli policemen present at the scene opened fire at the young man, who allegedly carried out a stabbing attack, injuring two soldiers.

As a result, the Israeli forces mobilized in the vicinity of the Old City, closed all its entrances, erected military checkpoints, and impeded the exit of worshipers from the vicinity of the Al-Aqsa Mosque after the end of the dawn prayer.

In a later development, Israeli forces stormed the village of Al-Tur, and raided the Qawasme’s house on Al-Khela Street in the town of Al-Tur. There they arrested his parents and his brother Muhammad.

Local sources stated that the Israeli forces released them, after interrogating them.
