The Palestinian Historical Narrative

How Palestinians are working to protect their history, culture and identity.

Jerusalem24 –  Last week, the Palestinian Ministry of Culture organized the history and civilizations of Palestine and the Region forum on an international level under the title of “new attitudes towards building a national historical narrative for Palestine and the region.”

The three day forum was coordinated as part of a project to empower the Palestinian narrative and a launch point for conferences on the local and international levels. The forum included a large number of researchers and historians from Palestine, Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Egypt, France and the United Kingdom.

According to the coordinator of the Forum, Haneen Qawasmi, the goal of the event was to preserve and protect the Palestinian historical narrative. This included the culture and historical origins of the region.

In this episode of Wake Up Palestine, Haneen Qawasmi speaks about the “history and civilizations of Palestine and the Region forum – new attitudes towards building a national historical narrative for Palestine and the region.” Qawasmi presents the forum’s importance, the concept’s inception and its future.
