Jerusalem24 – Dozens of activists yesterday, Sunday, gathered in front of Damon Prison in Haifa, in solidarity with Palestinian detainee Anhar al-Deek, demanding her release, as she is expected to undergo a caesarean section soon.
During the vigil, the demonstrators raised the Palestinian flag and placards calling for the release of the female prisoner Al-Deek and all the female prisoners.
Activist Buthaina Abu Ras, one of the people who organized the vigil, appealed to human rights institutions, especially the Red Cross, to intervene so that al-Deek can deliver her newborn safely in a qualified hospital and among her relatives.
She saluted all the female prisoners, and the prisoner Anhar who was three months pregnant during her arrest. Noting that she was arrested and left behind a baby girl no more than two years old and she is now in the ninth month of pregnancy and will give birth by caesarean section.
She said, “as a mother, I know how difficult this process is, and rivers need someone to be by her side when she is born, not to be alone in a prison that is not prepared for such cases.”
