Jerusalem24 – The Egyptian authorities decided to open the Rafah crossing and The Palestinian Embassy in Cairo announced that the Egyptian authorities informed it of the resumption of opening the Rafah land crossing for Palestinian travelers in both directions, starting today, Tuesday.
explaining that these measures come as a result of discussions and bilateral contacts between the Egyptian and Palestinian leaderships to facilitate the travel and return of Palestinian citizens to and from the Gaza Strip.
Furthermore, the dialogue sessions of the Palestinian factions will resume today in Cairo. and Palestinian sources participating in the dialogue confirmed that the atmosphere of the sessions was positive, and that the opening of the Rafah crossing was a result of that positive atmosphere.
Yesterday, Monday, under the patronage of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the work of the Palestinian National Dialogue session began, with the participation of 14 Palestinian factions, to inaugurate several understandings that establish a new phase in the history of Palestine.
An official source in the Fatah movement said that the Cairo meeting would discuss understanding and coordination about the Palestinian elections, how to get them out, ensure their success, and adhere to their results.
For his part, a responsible source in Hamas said that the movement’s delegation will “discuss, with an open heart, all controversial issues to reach a national consensus around them in order to inaugurate a new political stage for the Palestinian people and draw a national map that will be a reference for all.”
