The Fig Tree: Narrating the story of Jerusalem and agony of the diaspora

Jerusalem24 – Monodrama Artist, prominent author, and playwright Raeda Taha, was Vibes’s guest on Monday, 4 July, and shared the story behind her latest work “The Fig Tree”.
According to Taha, the Palestinian collective memory is the basis of good theater art.
Taha tells us, “The Fig Tree is a return to the origins. I see theater as a weapon – and in Palestinian storytelling in particular, a restoration and illumination of memory.”
“Here, the theater turns into a process of reflection between the personal and the general.”
Taha has previously explained that the Fig Tree is a sequel to the story she’s trying to tell, which includes “36 Abbas Street” and “Where can I find someone like you, Ali?” – “Alaai Zayak Feen Ya Ali”.
