Maariv: Israeli Military Establishment Entered a State of Maximum Alert
Jerusalem24 – The Israeli Hebrew newspaper Maariv reported today, Thursday, that the Israeli security and military establishment entered a state of special and maximum alert in preparation for the “Jewish Passover”, which begins from Thursday night to Friday and extends for several days.
According to the newspaper, large forces of the Israeli army will work in various operational sectors in the West Bank and along the line of contact, while today or tomorrow the possibility of imposing a comprehensive closure on the Palestinian territories will be considered.
The newspaper pointed out that the state of maximum alert will be maintained on the Gaza Strip front, especially with regard to the air defense system and the Iron Dome, in light of the escalation of threats by the factions in Gaza, and the fears of launching missiles if the situation escalates in Jerusalem and the West Bank.
Although Hamas is trying to prevent the launching of any rockets from Gaza, the Israeli army believes that the possibility of this happening is possible, and therefore the state of alert will remain, according to the newspaper report.
