Hebron and Bethlehem: Strike and protests against rises in prices

Truck drivers locked main streets

Following their threats of a strike protesting the rises in prices of services and goods, truck drivers locked different streets in the city of Hebron south the West Bank today, and Wadi Alnnar main road east of the city of Bethlehem.

These protests came in response to a call made by several popular and union sectors yesterday, in which many merchants responded to and closed their shops.

Protesters gathered in downtown Hebron near Ibn Ruoshd roundabout, while several truck drivers drove from Ein Sarah area to the roundabout.

Many citizens, through various slogans and statements, expressed their anger at the continuous and successive rise in prices, in light of the deteriorating living conditions of large segments of Palestinian.
