Wake Up Palestine – Palestinian Local Elections

December 11th will mark the day of the first phase of local Palestinian elections

Jerusalem24 – According to Palestinian Ministerial Cabinet Resolution No. (123/18) for the year 2021 and Resolution No. (126/18)for the year 2021, Palestinians will be heading to polling stations in all 11 governorates to participate in the first phase of the local elections.

These elections will determine memberships in 376 village and municipal councils in areas classified as C in the West Bank.

The number of eligible voters in the first phase of the local elections is 702 thousand people according to the Central Election Committee’s final voter register.

Over 358 thousand males represent 51% of the total registered vote, with over 343 thousand women (49%) registered as well.

In this episode of Wake Up Palestine, Mohammad Hamayel speaks with Fareed head of the Public Relations at the Central Elections Committee. Together, they present the challenges of the local elections in the Palestinian territories.
