Wake Up Palestine – Legal battle between Israel and Palestinian journalists at the ICC

Jerusalem24 – The International federation of journalists in conjunction with the the Palestinian Journalists’ Syndicate and the International Center of Justice for Palestinians are preparing a complaint to the International Criminal Court for the systematic targeting of journalists by Israel in Palestine.

Legal submissions will allege that there are strong grounds to conclude that Israel’s targeting of journalists working in Palestine and its failure to investigate killings of media workers amount to war crimes.

The complaint will detail the targeting of Palestinian journalists on behalf of four named victims – Ahmed Abu Hussein, Yaser Murtaja, Muath Amarneh and Nedal Eshtayet, who were either killed or maimed by Israeli snipers while covering demonstrations. All were wearing clearly marked Press vests. The complaint will also include the 2021 Israeli bombing of the towers that contained media outlets.

In this episode of Wake Up Palestine, we speak to Tayab Ali, a lawyer with the law-firm Bindmans, that is working on this high profile case.
