Over 500 academics affirm that criticism of Israel is not Anti-Semitism.
Jerusalem24 – More than 500 international academics, including about 200 professors from the United States of America, signed a letter of protest addressing the administration at the British University of Glasgow. The lettler stressed the need not to confuse criticism of the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories with anti-Semitism.
The open letter signed by current and former presidents of major international universities, including a Nobel Prize winner, objected to what it described as yielding to pressure and false allegations of anti-Semitism by apologizing for an academic research critical of the Israeli occupation published in the university’s journal.
“The university’s decision to apologize for publishing the research paper followed complaints that were exaggerated in a news report that its content was anti-Semitic, even though the paper was accepted and published after a review process by academics at the university,” the letter said, rejecting the decision of the University of Glasgow Board of Directors.
