United Arab List threatens to disrupt Israeli government coalition
Jerusalem24 – Today, Tuesday, the United Arab List in the Israeli Knesset threatened to disrupt the agenda of the government coalition parties, of which the list is one of its parties, if what was agreed upon when it was formed is not implemented.
Walid Taha, head of the list’s bloc and head of the Knesset’s Interior Committee, announced the cancellation of two sessions of the committee as part of a reaction to the failure to bring the law connecting Arab homes to electricity, which was submitted by the list for approval in the coalition this week. “The government coalition rejected the law for the first time under the pretext of objecting to the way the law was presented, and after negotiations with the coalition parties, we reached a formula acceptable to all, and we see no reason to postpone bringing the law to a vote this week,” Taha said.
He added, “The interest of our Arab communities comes first , even if we need to disrupt the entire agenda of the government coalition to connect Arab homes to electricity until a solution is found.” He also stressed that the unified list will put all the demands and issues of the Arab community on the table now.
