Jerusalem24 – The Israeli daily newspaper, Haaretz, reported that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is expected to meet at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah, today, Sunday, with two Israeli ministers from the left-wing Meretz party.
According to the newspaper, Israeli Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz and Regional Cooperation and Development Minister Issawi Freij will hold a meeting with President Abbas, and it is not expected that the meeting will address any political settlement.
The newspaper pointed out that after the change of government in Israel, senior officials in the Palestinian Authority formulated a list of economic demands aimed primarily at improving the lives of the residents, in addition to 4G telecommunications service.
The meeting comes about a month after President Abbas met with Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz in Ramallah. After the meeting, Gantz said that he had agreed with President Abbas on a series of measures aimed at easing the PA’s economic distress and strengthening security coordination.
