Odeh attacks the Israeli police: They looks at us as enemies

Jerusalem24 – Ayman Odeh, head of the Joint Arab List in the Israeli Knesset, last night, Wednesday, attacked the Israeli police for their failure in dealing with the rampant crime in  Palestinian communities in Israel.

“We are seen as enemies and not as citizens,” said Odeh in an interview with Israeli Channel 13. Expressing his rejection of allegations that the Israeli police are incapable of the phenomenon of violence in Arab society.

He added, “Since 1948, every Arab who killed a Jew has been arrested without exception. When the police want to, they can do it.”

He continued, “every time retired police officers hear that an Arab has killed an Arab, they say: they kill each other. This thing is in the police – so they have not yet made the decision to eliminate organized crime.”

In response to a question about the policy change from the new government, the head of the Joint Arab List said, “There is one group in the country that has not yet felt that there is a change in the government in the country, and that is the criminal organizations. There is no change here and the number of dead speaks for itself.”

Odeh called on the police to act in order to eradicate the crime, sending a message to the Israelis in which he said, “Violence in the Arab community is important to all of us.. We live in one society.. Yesterday a policeman was killed, and in two days a Jew will be killed, so we all have to fight this phenomenon.”
