Lawyer reveals that prisoner, Muhammad Al-Ardah, was subjected to abuse

The prisoner had several injuries, and was deprived of sleep, food and drink

Jerusalem24 – Lawyer for the Palestinian Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Commission, Khaled Mahajna, revealed that since his re-arrest, the prisoner, Muhammad al-Ardah, has been subjected to torture, abuse, sleep deprivation, humiliation and physical stripping, with injuries to his head and face.

Mahajna recounted the details of his visit to the prisoner, Muhammad Al-Ardah, at dawn today, Wednesday, after Israeli intelligence stipulated at the last moments that each lawyer should visit only one prisoner.

Mahajna said in an interview with him on Palestine TV at dawn today, “Al-Adra was happy with his tour in historical Palestine, and he was quoted as saying that the simple details he saw compensated him for 22 years inside the prison, as he ate cactus fruits for the first time in 22 years from one of the fields in the plains of Marj Ibn Amer.”

The lawyer indicated that the Israeli forces brutally assaulted the detainee at the moment of his arrest, pointing out that he was hit in the head and above the right eye. He has not received treatment until now, and that he suffers from many wounds when he tried to escape when he was arrested.

The lawyer said, quoting the prisoner Al-Adra, that there were 20 interrogations in Nazareth prison, where the prisoner was stripped of his clothes and interrogated naked for a long time, after which he was transferred to the Jalameh interrogation center south of Haifa.

He pointed out that since last Saturday, the captive has been going through a long, round-the-clock investigation journey, and that he has only slept for about 10 hours since his arrest.

He confirmed that the interrogators are trying to bargain with him on false charges, and one of the interrogators threatened to shoot him.

Lawyer Mahajna conveyed the captive’s greetings to his people, surprised by the extent of global solidarity with him, and thanked everyone who supported him and all the media.

The prisoner Al-Ardah said that he does not know who was arrested among his colleagues who escaped from Gilboa prison except Zakaria Al-Zubaidi, stressing that the investigators are hiding all information from him.

He continues that his trip in his country was enough for all the years of his detention, saying, “The members of the Al-Yamam and Al-Yam units attacked his companion Zakaria Zubeidi, and upon his arrival at the Jalameh investigation center they separated them from each other and he does not know anything about him.”

He said that he would write about his free five-day journey, noting that 48 hours before their arrest they had not drank any water, stressing that if they had water, they would have been able to withstand more.

Regarding the moment of his arrest, lawyer Al-Mahajna said that the Israeli forces arrested him when he was sleeping behind a truck, and in the last moments, one of the soldiers searched inside the box for routine inspection and grabbed his hand, stressing that he tried to escape and could not, and at that time he did not try to resist, despite that the special forces assaulted him, and since his arrest was only taken once for treatment.
