Israeli court extends the detention of escaped prisoners in connection with escape case
Jerusalem24 – Yesterday evening, Saturday, an Israeli court in Nazareth extended the detention of the four prisoners who escaped from Gilboa Prison, until next Sunday, pending a new case related to their “escape.”
According to the Israeli Reshet Kan channel, the court made a decision after deliberations that took place in the presence of the four prisoners.
According to the Israeli news website, Ynet, the prisoners were charged with “escaping from prison” and what they described as “conspiracy to commit a crime”, belonging to a “terrorist” organization, and planning to carry out a “terrorist act.”
The four prisoners were shown to the court bound and handcuffed by their hands and feet in an unusual way, at the request of the Nahshon unit, which is the first time that prisoners have been presented in this way.
Dozens of Palestinian youths demonstrated inside in front of the court, where they raised pictures of the prisoners and chanted slogans praising them.
