Wake Up Palestine – Family Reunification

Jerusalem24 – Wake Up Palestine – 5000 Palestinian families are to be given reunification. What does any of this mean? See Palestinians can lose their Ids and citizenship for any number of reasons.

Especially Palestinians in Jerusalem. Back in the 1980s, any Palestinian whether in Jerusalem, the West Bank, or Gaza Strip could lose their ID by staying abroad for over two years.

These years it’s only specific to Palestinians in Jerusalem. Another issue is that Palestinians in the West Bank, Gaza, Jerusalem, or Israel face harrowing challenges in marrying each other, because more times than not, the difficulties in changing address, or registering the children can tear families apart.

This is especially true for Palestinians in the West Bank, Jerusalem, and Gaza. For the first time in years, 5000 families will be able to live together without fear for their families. Still, there are thousands more that will be waiting for their own.

In this episode of Wake Up Palestine, Mohammad Hamayel speaks with the General Director of HaMoked: Center for the Defence of the Individual, Jessica Montel. Together they discuss what family reunification will mean to those 5000 families, and how many other people need help in Family Reunification.
