Wake Up Palestine – Wein a Ramallah

Jerusalem24 – Wake Up Palestine – The Wein a Ramallah Festival is an annual event organized by the municipality to celebrate local Palestinian artists, and comes at the same time as the Harjeh market. Taking its name from a popular folklore song, the festival takes place in public spaces throughout the city of Ramallah.

The annual celebrative ritual of the city is more than a summer tradition. Wein a Ramallah is an occasion to engage in discourse about Ramallah through workshops and seminars, and through the artists’ dialogue about our city and its future. Wein a Ramallah is an occasion to meet outside traditional venues, in the city’s open horizons and spaces.

In this episode of Wake Up Palestine, Mohammad Hamayel speaks with the organizer of the festival Sally Abu Baker about the event, its nature and its goals.
