Israel begins giving a third dose to people over 30 years old

The number of infected people since the start of the epidemic has exceeded one million

Jerusalem24 – Yesterday, the Israeli government began vaccinating its citizens aged 30 years and above with a third booster dose against “Covid-19” as part of its efforts to curb infections associated with the highly contagious Delta variant.

The Israeli Ministry of Health said in a statement, “The vaccination campaign with the third dose continues to expand to include additional numbers of the population starting today (yesterday), August 24, so that those over the age of 30 will also be vaccinated with the third dose.”

They added, “this was approved based on the recommendation of the Corona vaccine advisory team and the epidemiological treatment team, and on the recommendation of members of the vaccine use and safety monitoring committee.”

During the past 24 hours, Israel recorded 9,800 new cases of “Corona”, the highest number of infections since the outbreak of the fourth wave of the epidemic.

Professor Nachman Asch, Director-General of the Ministry of Health, said in a radio interview, “The rise in the number of infections is worrying, but the number of serious cases is slowly rising, but it is still rising.”

The number of infected people since the start of the epidemic has exceeded one million, and 6,864 people have died as a result of the virus, according to the Ministry of Health.
