Wake Up Palestine – Academic Boycott of Israel

The viability, risks and reasons for boycotting Israel in academic circles.

Jerusalem24 – Wake Up Palestine – A group of academics and researchers decided to walk out of a conference organized by the International Society of Political Psychology, our guest today is one of those people. There are many perspectives pertaining to boycotting different academic events and activities such as the one organized by the ISPP. While some people regard starting a dialogue between Israelis and Palestinians, others believe that a boycott is the more viable option.

In this episode of Wake Up Palestine, Mohammad Hamayel speaks with Dr. Vivienne Badaan, an assitant professor at the American University in Beirut, about their decision to boycott the ISPP conference. What motivated them to do so, the nature of their protest and what they hope to achieve with their decision.
