The area has witnessed protests over the past few weeks.

Jerusalem24 – Israeli military forces, on Wednesday morning, closed all roads connecting Jabal Sbeih to the town of Beita; South of Nablus.

Deputy Mayor of Beita Municipality, Mousa Hamayel, said that Israeli bulldozers have been working since the early hours of the morning. They have closed all roads that lead to Jabal Sbeih. The area has witnessed several protests of “Nights of Confusion” over the course of the last few weeks against the Avitar settlement outpost built on the top of Jabal Sbeih.

Hamayel added that the Israeli military prevented citizens from reaching the area, affirming that these measures will not stop them from continuing the protests in confronting the approaching settlement expansion on their lands.

The lands of Jabal Sbeih belong to the municipalities of Beita, Qabalan and Yitma; South of Nablus. The past few weeks the area hosted popular resistance activities, most notable are the Nights of Confusion; where Palestinians play loud music, burn tires around the mountain area and flash spotlights on the Israeli forces and the settler’s homes in the outpost.
