Settlers threatened to evict 3 families from Sheikh Jarrah

Jerusalem24 –  Yesterday, Tuesday, settlers stormed Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, which is threatened with forced eviction of its residents in occupied Jerusalem, under the protection of the Israeli military forces, and threatened residents of 3 houses with eviction.

Among the settlers, a member of the Knesset from the right-wing opposition “Religious Zionism” party, Bezalel Smotrich, and director of the Ateret Cohanim settlement association, which works on seizing homes through lawsuits in the courts.

One of the owners of the threatened houses, Saleh Diab, said that the settlers tried to storm 3 houses in the neighborhood belonging to the families of Diab, Al-Kurd, and Qasim, amid provocations from the residents, and threatened them to evict them from their homes in favor of the settlers within a period of time (one month). He added that the storming attempt was met with fistfights with the residents, who confronted the settler groups.

On Monday night, settlers attacked the residents of Sheikh Jarrah in Jerusalem, while the Israeli soldiers arrested two young men and wounded 20 civilians.
