Israeli authorities issue 155 administrative detention orders against Palestinians since start of May – says Prisoner Society

the number of Palestinians placed under administrative detention, without charge or trial, has reached 500

Jerusalem24 – Around 155 administrative detention orders were issued against Palestinians, including 84 new orders, since the start of May; the highest percentage in years over a short period of time, according to the Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS).

PPS said the Israeli authorities have escalated their administrative detention campaigns against Palestinians during the recent period of escalated tensions throughout the occupied Palestinian territories.

To be noted, the number of Palestinians placed under administrative detention, without charge or trial, has reached 500, including three minors and two women, said PPS.

Israeli occupation authorities continue to carry out systematic arrest campaigns that have affected more than 2,400 Palestinians since the start of May, said PPS.
