He added that his wife was attacked with a sharp object cutting her lip and forehead, and two Palestinian youth who happened to pass by and came to her aid.

The police who arrived at the scene, as the old city is filled with cameras, took her to a police station near the Jaffa Gate and called Sheikh Amer to see his wife.

Abdeen said that “they called me to arrive at the station, took a statement from my wife and told us that they arrested the settler.” He added that “We believe nothing will happen to him.”

This isn’t the first time that Sahar Abdeen was attacked by settlers. She went through a similar experience several months ago at the Chains Gate.

Abdeen says that the area near the Chains Gate is known to be a place where settlers attack Palestinians in the Old City of Jerusalem
