Drop in Palestine’s Industrial Production Index
Manufacturing Industry also decreased by 2.24%
Jerusalem24 – The overall Industrial Production Index (IPI) in Palestine decreased by 2.43 during February 2021 compared to January of the same year, and reached 99.07 points (Base Year 2019 = 100), according to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).
IPI for February 2021 decreased due to the decrease in the activities of Mining and Quarrying by 12.32 percent, which had a share of 2.89 percent of the total industry, and the activities of Water Supply, Sewerage, Waste Management and Remediation by 9.31 percent which had a share of 1.84 percent of the total industry.
The activities of the Manufacturing Industry also decreased by 2.24 percent, and had a share of 87.89 percent of the total industry.
Meanwhile, the activities of Electricity, Gas, Steam and Air Conditioning Supply increased by 0.39 percent, and had a share of 7.38 percent of the total industry.
