Israel submits a proposal to evacuate the residents of Khan Al-Ahmar
According to the Hebrew newspaper's allegations, the transfer is the most effective solution, especially since this transfer allows them to maintain the same lifestyle that they currently live.
Jerusalem24 – Official Israeli authorities submitted a proposal to the residents of Khan Al-Ahmar, to evacuate the village and move them to a wider area a few hundred meters from their current location, to remain in the same area between Jerusalem and Jericho, according to the Hebrew newspaper Yediot Aharonot, this morning, Monday.
According to the Hebrew newspaper’s allegations, the transfer is the most effective solution, especially since this transfer allows them to maintain the same lifestyle that they currently live.
It quoted sources familiar with the issue that if the proposal is agreed upon, it will be transferred to the political level for discussion and then approval, noting that the proposal was drawn up according to the Civil Administration’s maps and the areas were defined for the families residing there.
In 2018, the Israeli Supreme Court allowed the demolition of the village, but this did not happen in an attempt by the political level to reach an agreement with the residents of the village by submitting several proposals to them, in light of European pressure to prevent its demolition.
The far-right Regafim organization accused the Israeli government of submitting through this new proposal to the Palestinian strategic plan to create a geographical connection between Bethlehem, Jericho and Ramallah.
The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu denied the existence of such a proposal.
